We’re Jessica and Holger Maurer
We’re glad you’d like to know who’s behind Das Farmhaus. As so often when you want something to turn out really well, you rarely do it alone. It takes a team. Our family team includes Holger’s sister Gaby, brother-in-law Andi, Grandma Anni and our two daughters. Since we run several vacation properties, family alone isn’t enough anymore, so we’re lucky to have a loyal, long-standing core team and helping hands nearby. Without them, we couldn’t pull off this labor of love.
What luxury means to us
Modern architecture, sustainability, well-being and a touch of luxury are what matter most to us. But if luxury means pomp and show to you, with a butler, marble bathrooms and the full service of a luxury hotel, Das Farmhaus isn’t the right fit.
Modern luxury is also responsible luxury, and for us that means a sustainable approach throughout: our farm-to-table concept, the Perfect Holiday amenities, generating our own power, and encouraging eco-friendly travel (for example with our EV charger, or by picking guests up from the train station). Giving yourself permission to focus on what really matters on vacation.
Making memories with family and friends. Being together. Being happy. We built Das Farmhaus for people looking for exactly that, whether on vacation, on a creative break, at a workshop or on a retreat.
Just as with our Mosel Chalets, we chose the highest-quality and most sustainable way to build Das Farmhaus: timber construction. Step into a wooden house and you simply feel it, a healthy, warm and very special indoor climate. The pleasant scent and feel of the natural, untreated wood in the floors and walls has an immediate effect. The certified spruce comes mainly from sustainably managed forests and regional sawmills in Rhineland-Palatinate and the Black Forest.
