The Mosel – a cyclist’s dream

The Hunsrück and Mosel regions are among the most beautiful cycling areas in Germany.

Radsport Schrauth in Cochem rents out bikes and will deliver them straight to the Farmhaus on request. They also offer a replacement service if you have a breakdown. You can park the bikes safely in the basement and, of course, charge the e-bikes there too.

The Farmhaus is the perfect starting point for both easy and challenging mountain bike rides – for example, combined with a visit to the Geierlay suspension bridge. A ride along the Mosel is much more relaxed, and there’s more to see. And if the Mosel Riesling turned out to be a little too tasty or the ride a little too long, just put your bikes on the train or a boat and head back in comfort.

Before you rent, please keep in mind that the bike shop is in Cochem, down on the Mosel, while the Farmhaus sits above the valley at about 1,050 feet (320 m) and 15 miles (25 km) away. So think about whether you’d rather pick up the bikes there or have them delivered to the Farmhaus. If you’re ambitious mountain bikers, you can of course combine the two. Just to let you know…

You can reserve bikes in advance directly with Radsport Schrauth. They’ll email you a questionnaire that helps determine the right frame size and other details.
